Miguel Salvador Peña
Biomedical Engineer - Imaging, Technology, and Devices.
Software Engineer - Self taught, enhanced by engineering degrees.
Video Game Developer - Long time passion.

Passionate about medical imaging modalities.
Motivated about learning.
Fascinated about the universe.
Miguel received his bachelor's and master's degrees in biomedical engineering from The University of Arizona. He has extensive computer and electrical skills, equivalent to an electrical engineer but with medical knowledge. He has a substantial background in biomedical imaging, software development, and laboratory equipment maintenance as a graduate research associate for three years.
Additionally, through self-teaching and tinkering, he developed a strong background of over five years of software development experience in the C# programming language. Naturally, he used those skills for his senior design capstone project, master's thesis, and other coursework. He is seeking to start a career as a software engineer, and work his way up to higher positions that involve research and development in the field of biomedical imaging and software development.
Developed with MATLAB and SPM12 for Master's Thesis at The University of Arizona.
Given an existing fMRI dataset consisting of only DICOM files, an application for data analysis was needed and Miguel programmed such an application. Subsequently, a paper was published in the Journal of Neuroimaging
Utilizes skills in Analog/Digital Circuit Design, C++ Programming, and Signal Processing.
Outlined the necessary components to this capstone project. Investigated ideal circuitry, and allocated ideal resources.
Lead GUI and Game Programmer
Collaborated with six person team, four biomedical engineers (including me) and two electrical engineers, on best practices for developing video games. Streamlined development of feedback systems, alignment of models to real-world controllers, and communication with Arduino IDE.
Created with C++, Visual Studio 2019, and SFML.
Utilizes skills with 2D arrays, data structures, matrix transformations, and computer programming. Demonstrates ability to adapt to new software quickly (project completed in under three days).
Developed using Javascript
Initiated the development of a browser game utilizing the Canvas html tag, DOM, and BOM for drawing graphics, handling events, and computing timing respectively.
